Lil’ Iguana says to wash your hands for 20 seconds or more.  Singing 20 seconds of your favorite song is a great way to remember how long to wash your hands.  It is important to know how to wash your hands with soap and warm water.  This easy recipe is a fun representation of the germs we might encounter every day.  While making these tasty treats, parents and educators should talk to their children about the lesson I Wash My Hands and the best ways to avoid germs.    

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Cups Toasted O’ cereal

  • 3 Cups Marshmallow

  • ¼ Cup Butter

  • Chocolate drop candy

  • Frosting

  • Food Coloring

DIRECTIONS

Step 1 :
Combine butter and marshmallows in a large microwaveable bowl. Place bowl in the microwave and heat for about 2 minutes to melt the ingredients.

Step 2 :
Measure cereal and stir into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Step 3 :
Let cool to avoid burning hands. Form cereal mixture into rounded balls.

Step 4 :
After rolling into balls, add colored chocolate candies to the tasty treats.

Step 5 :
Optional, add colored frosting to candies for layered germ look.
